I glad that you were there with my grandparents; they are good people. I think back and how it was a chore having to listen to their stories. Today, I have my own children and appreciate all they have taught me, especially my grandfather. You are not the only one called "dygyss," before. I was looking through the websites and I saw my grandparent's place. They love that place and I would never do anything to remove them or change it. Some have tried:)

Hi Jenn,

I really enjoyed your story and feel for my homeland. I miss my parents who have passed and I love to read stories about the love extended by my people, especially the elders. They are so loving and warm. I grew up on the Navajo reservation and had to chuckle about your experience with the intestines. Take care.

Hi Stacy!

Thanks for being a concerned reader. Here are the best websites for you to go to in order to learn more information about what is going on with the Balck Mesa situation. I know the people from both of these organizations, which is why I feel comfortable sending you there.

This one is run by a woman who sells the beautiful weavings Navajo women make. She gives the money to the weavers and also does a lot of fundraising and activism to help the resistors:
http://www.migrations.com/

This is the website for Black Mesa Indigenous Support. They do lots of fundraisers for the resistors as well as send out volunteers to the Mesa to help. They are the group I went through when I went out to the land.
http://www.blackmesais.org/latest_indfo.htm

I think through either, or both of these you can get the answer to your second question, how to help!

Thank you so much for your interest and let me know if there is anything else I can help you with!

Regards,
Jenn

Hi Jenn, Thank you for sharing your story. As a reader (I make no claims to any great writing skill), two questions came to me as I read your article.
1. Do you have more sources for the information in your article? I would be interested in reading more about this. (I did read the article from 1998)
2. What can we do to help?
