WheelerIt’s time to wrap up the week now with our favourite links from around the web.

Lonely Planet founder Tony Wheeler is on tour for his new book “Bad Lands” - inspired by the infamous Axis of Evil. Two great interviews about his trip surfaced this week: A Tourist In The Axis Of Evil and Now’s the time, guys: escape the rat race.

Continuing the theme, BNT contributor Derek C Wallace was kind enough to transcribe a powerful article on ditching the cubicle: Quit Your Job, Work Is A Sham!

George Monbiot, also on a book tour interview “Two Degrees From Devestation“, doesn’t shy away from issuing the ultimate challenge to those wanting to combat climate change: stop flying.

Downloadable audio tours seem to be on the cusp of mainstream penetration. Check out the latest offerings from Canadian entrant City Surf.

The 100 Greatest Adventure Books Of All Time has been on National Geographic for a while, but thought I’d share this classic with you just in case you missed it.

Brush up on your skills with a great new list The Ten Most Common Photographic Mistakes.

And finally, for those budding travel photographers worried about protecting their images from online theft, here’s a guide for you Protecting Images: The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.

Enjoy the weekend!

Some great articles there, especially the one about work being a sham. We are neglecting our duty as human beings to to what we are here for… experience. What we should all be doing is experiencing what we are naturally good at doing and what brings us joy. That way we are being a true expression of who we are and contributing to the overall experience for everybody else.

Doing a job you don’t like your whole life is downright irresponsible.

If it’s downloadable audio tours that you want, then look no further than:

    http://www.tourdio.com

It is a directory of audio tours from all over the world, organised geographically.
