I think your teacher is confusing the German words "Beruf" and "Berufung". And Fliessbandarbeiter is spelled with two "s" (sorry, that's the pedantic German in me). I'm with you guys in thinking that wandering around semi-aimlessly snapping photos and writing some stuff down now and then is a great way to be spending my time. I'm working towards it as well... I'm leaving January 2008, ready or not! I guess how long I stay away depends on how well I can make this mucking around thing pay off. Nice article Pam.

And wouldn't you know, I'm going to try some Tech Writing as a way to support that. The Italians have a phrase... il ben far niente (the beauty of doing nothing) and they take it to a high art and are very proud of their efforts at doing so. Perhaps unlike us, they don't waste time with guilt over the quest for seeking the beauty of doing nothing...they embrace it!
