I would be a little concerned with the extent to which you take the concept, however, which seems to have developed the undertones of an anti-establishment philosophy. Simplicity is great, but I would take great caution in becoming too "anti-establishment" as in general I consider it to be a self-defeating attitude. I can completely relate. I went travelling in 2001 and have been clutter-free ever since.
