<description>True! To me, the idea of ‘buying somewhere else’ is as exciting as being somewhere else. Innumerable times have I come home to find identical souvenirs at malls and at the local art or import store. But would my picking up the piece at a chain store transport me to the place it came from, would it remind me of my exchange with the shopkeeper in sign language to decide its price, or it was raining the day I bought it and the earth smelled really fresh after it stopped? Nah, I think I will stick to buying my trinkets in the places I visit.
