I've been amazed each day at the bravery of the citizens of Burma and hope their efforts and those of the leaders of the world are enough to topple the regime. The past few days, a lot of photos, reports, and videos from the demonstrations have made it onto the internet via blogs, YouTube, as well as BBC et al. Sure, the Burmese gov't is trying to shut this down, but it already seems that there is more international attention focused on Myanmar now than ever before. In that sense, the demonstrations were/are a success. I just hope violence won't escalate the way they did in 1988. Thanks for bringing this up on the site, Ian.
