		<description>It really is a very helpless feeling watching this all unfold and seeing the military firing on unarmed civilians. I&#039;ve been amazed each day at the bravery of the citizens of Burma and hope their efforts and those of the leaders of the world are enough to topple the regime.</description>

The past few days, a lot of photos, reports, and videos from the demonstrations have made it onto the internet via blogs, YouTube, as well as BBC et al.  Sure, the Burmese gov&#039;t is trying to shut this down, but it already seems that there is more international attention focused on Myanmar now than ever before.  In that sense, the demonstrations were/are a success.  I just hope violence won&#039;t escalate the way they did in 1988.</description>
