Great entry! The way I see it, to quote a classic, Point Break, "it takes total commitment...you just can't call time out...".

Being some place, totally immersed, surrounded by sight, sound, smell, more smell, touch, temp, etc you get something beyond knowledge...experience. Total commitment to whats going on at that moment. When you see it in a video game, you could almost completely miss your surroundings unless you've been there before.

Then, your memories are trigger and you get a wholenother time to experience and feel that distance part of the world, this time perhaps with new insights given different surroundings and time to reflect.

When you've traveled you bring back the world to view every experience and interaction through, including beautiful graphics in a video game.

If instead you just played video games, you'd see everything in 2D without the world ever becoming a part of you from the inside out.

You play Halo3 on Xbox live with your boyfriend? That kicks ass! I liked the article a lot. You don't have a sister do you?

Sincerely,
Dinosoureen
