I would be tempted to pick it up and give it a go, but my stack of unread books has reached astronomical proportions again. For me, though, it is a lot easier to appreciate a quasi-okay book as an audiobook. That way I feel like I haven't exerted a lot of time, energy or effort with it if it fails to live up to its hype. As for audiobooks in general, I love them for road trips. Travel and "reading a book" at the same time ... it doesn't get much better than that. Thanks, Julie! If someone is going to travel around and try and find out what makes people happy in one place and not another, they should try and go as native as possible - not as a rich American tourist who stays in hotels and has a guide.
