This is great stuff. Even Steaven Seagal is wearing a civilian bulletproof kimono type leather jacket. Bulletproof jackets are not only being manufactured to protect the lives of police officers, military personnel and government agents, but are now being manufactured to go mainstream. People are purchasing bulletproof jackets to protect themselves, and some parents are even buying them for their kids. Civilians, not just police, have the right to protect themselves or their loved ones, friends, family with a bulletproof jacket that is effective against a deadly assault. Now, we have this option.

Great article. With a world awash with guns, this business would be one thriving in a global recession.

Who would kill Steven Seagal you ask? He was involved in a mob trial about 5-6 years ago in New York, where it was reported he was getting shaken down by mobsters.

Richard - Nice job! This is one of my favorite articles to date. Please keep the stories coming. Factoid: Every 9 minutes someone dies of a gun shot wound in the greater Los Angeles, CA area. To think that any place on earth is more dangerous than Compton, south-side of Chicago, 8-mile, or Washington D.C. is mislead. OK, maybe parts of Africa, Iraq and others are muy peligroso; but don't scare yourself into believing that you are safer in the USA than Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Brazil or any other country south of the border. iI you're ever unlucky enough to be walking alone in one the aforementioned US cities after dark, you'll darn well wish you were wearing Miguel Caballero’s designer clothes! I'm sure there are some students in VA, CO, and IL who would trade their $250 Nike shoes for a Members Only Miguel Caballero special.

Thank you for the kind words, Miguel caballero is certainly an interesting guy. Yes, the stark reality is fairly upsetting.

you know, at first i thought that there was o need for these and that it was all a ridiculous waste, preying off of people fears - until i get my mind ot of north america and start thinking about how many eope are injured or killed by stray bullets every year. at that point it just becomes upsetting and somewhat depressing. but i guess there is a need for these things, as upsetting as that may be.

A fantastic end, too! Always a big fan of your work, McColl. I'm curious how dragonskin body armor can be about 6 cm thick, and barely be rated beyond a few high-caliber rounds, but this stuff can be fabric thin (ish) and somehow manage to stop anything more than harsh words. Amazing stuff.
