Great idea for a post! I would go to 12th century Iceland and try to get into one of the sagas without being killed.

What a great article! I would definitely go back to New York & Chicago during the roaring 20s. I would visit England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland in the 14th century. I would go back to Rome and visit each one of the reigns of the FIVE GOOD EMPERORS (at least they understood leadership). Ancient Babylon would be a hoot! I definitely would visit China during the Ming Dynasty. I would visit Mongolia during the reign of Genghis Khan. I would like to visit the Mesopotamian and Persian Empires. I would like to visit England during the reigns of Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria (is there a pattern here). I would like to see Stonehenge being built, hang out with the Druids...I would like to see Hadrian's Wall be built...I would like to visit the UK & France during the "time" of King Arthur to see if he was real...So many places to visit....

I think you neglected a very historical place called Israel which includes - Jerusalem the sacred city for 3 religions, Nazareth, Sea of Galilee, Dead sea scrolls and many other historical sites...
This country is a major historical country for the era of 1000 BC to 200 AC

Blend with the masses?? A few of the examples you gave, death would be killed a lot more likely than if visiting the prehistoric world... Race would play a huge part in where and when you'd travel too :P

Great article. And fabulous choices. I think I'd like to be a favorite in the court of Louis XVI (before things went terribly wrong).
