They need to give you a reason to upgrade. Economy class will be uncomfortable until the end of time. Do you ever hear anybody complain about the conditions in first class? You hang out weightless as the craft rocket-boosts itself to a point over your destination, and drops you back down into, say, Tokyo an hour and a half after you took off from the US.
