I'm not sure how her diary entries are "damning." If anything it shows the strength and belief in her faith that despite the doubts and uncertainty she held, she continued to do what she felt was right.

As for Parenti, the majority of his sources are from Hitchens, and Chatterjee, whose book Hitchens worked on as a documentary. I'm not sure about Chatterjee but Hitchens and Parenti make their living commentating (mostly criticizing) other people/systems/beliefs. It gets old. Even if Mother Theresa was a liar and did 50% of what she did, she still did a lot more good than anything Hitchens is doing by criticizing anything and everything he comes across. He may be a smart guy, but he gets annoying (Does it hurt to be positive once in a while)? Geez. I always thought it in poor taste to insult the dead, talk about kicking someone when their down. What drives you to try and trash the reputation of someone who isn't even alive to give a rebuttal? (Not you Christine, just a hypothetical at those who do).

It's easy to be a critic. It's a lot harder to go out and do something meaningful and worthwhile.

The darkness of the soul is often a characteristic of a saint in Catholic tradition. Our ancient enemy tries to make the faithful lose their faith, through doubt and the key to sainthood is the practice of the Faith despite doubts and fears and temptation.

This is quite amusing, who would of thought saints had this side to them.
